Day 1: Hobart

 

Arrive Hobart by air, and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel upon arrival

 

Tasmania is a unique island state located at the southern tip of Australia. Roughly the size of West Virginia, Tasmania is a land of stunning coastlines, tall forests, rugged mountains and sparkling highland lakes. Over a third of the state is reserved as National Parks and the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, a refuge and habitat for rare plants and animals. These environments are home to wonderful outdoor pursuits such as river rafting, sea kayaking, bush walking, cycling and world class fly fishing.

Day 2: Hobart – Tarraleah

 

Morning sightseeing in Hobart and surrounds before transferring to The Lodge at Tarraleah by road

 

Fine regional cuisine and wines are an expression of the Lodge’s commitment to promoting the very best of Tasmania. From the Lodge, explore the World Heritage listed wilderness, revel in some of the finest fly fishing, play the Highland Golf Course, walk to spectacular waterfalls or simply relax by the fire and read a book or ponder the view as you soak in the cliff top hot tub.

This tract of Tasmanian wilderness is traversed by the world-famous multi-day Overland Track.  Shorter day walks from Cradle Mountain explore the World Heritage Area, with its glaciated crags and lakes, wildlife and rare alpine flora.

The national park is home to many native animals and birds and these can be seen in their natural surroundings close to the cabins.  And within close walking distance is the panoramic view of Wineglass Bay - voted one of the top ten beaches in the world by Outside Magazine.
